GRP Fibreglass Roofing in Sussex

GRP, often called fibreglass roofing, creates a rigid, seamless waterproof surface over a prepared roof deck. Mascot Roofing installs and repairs GRP systems on suitable flat-roof projects across Sussex.

The system combines resin, reinforcement and a protective topcoat. Because the finished covering is formed on the roof, deck quality, weather conditions, resin application and perimeter trims all affect the result.

Need a quotation for a GRP flat roof? Call 01444 239977 or request a free, no-obligation roofing quotation.

Where GRP roofing can be used

GRP is commonly considered for domestic extensions, garages, balconies that are not used as occupied terraces, dormers and other smaller or moderately sized flat roofs. Suitability depends on movement, deck construction and detailing.

What a successful installation requires

The roof deck must be correctly fixed, dry and appropriately prepared before the laminate is installed. Junctions, trims and drainage should be planned before resin work starts.

  • A sound deck with correctly treated joints.
  • Dry installation conditions suitable for the resin system.
  • Proper reinforcement and resin coverage.
  • Careful edge, outlet, upstand and penetration details.

Repairs and refurbishment

Cracks, impact damage, failed trims or defects around roof details can sometimes be repaired by preparing and laminating the affected area. Colour and finish may vary between old and new material.

Where movement or widespread delamination has affected the roof, the underlying cause should be addressed before a larger refurbishment is considered.

Our approach

  1. Discuss the property, roof area, symptoms and access.
  2. Inspect the existing covering, deck, drainage and important junctions.
  3. Explain whether a repair, overlay or replacement is appropriate.
  4. Provide a clear scope and quotation before work starts.
  5. Prepare and install the system with close attention to waterproof details.

Areas we cover

Mascot Roofing works in Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath and across Sussex, with suitable projects also undertaken in Surrey, Kent and London. Send us the property postcode and a brief description so we can confirm coverage.

GRP roofing questions

Is GRP suitable for every flat roof?

No. Roof size, movement, deck construction, access and intended use all influence whether GRP is appropriate.

Can a damaged GRP roof be repaired?

Local damage can often be repaired, but widespread cracking or movement requires investigation of the deck and original installation.
